Received Uncle Dix Sampler as a "gift" should be called a gag gift

Received Uncle Dix Sampler as a gift. He is definitely named D. The Canadian Bacon was not vacuum packed like it should be. It had air in it and meat was just loose inside. I had to throw it out because it even smelled up my refrigerator with rotten meat smell. Oh, and there were no crackers. Not a big deal since they are mediocre but I did get the Havarti Cheese and that was ok. Fruit in there as usual was mediocre at best. In short, one of the worst gifts I ever received and I would rather have nothing than this waste of money crap. I need to emphasize this because for some reason people keep buying me this type of junk.

Disappointing service

Pittman and Davis has been receiving a large order yearly from us for more than 15 years. This year, the fruit was much smaller (we understand that it was due to the freeze, but they should have alerted their customers) and addresses were not corrected. They did send a second box to the correct address.
My daughter, Tamara Anderson received a petit fruit gift in January and the grapefruit were rotten and moldy. I called and the individual I talked with said that the best Pittman and Davis could do was credit us for two grapefruit. A two grapefruit refund is pitiful. My daughter lives in California and she loves the grapefruit and was very disappointed in the response.

I have been using P&D for about 10…

I have been using P&D for about 10 years to send gifts to family, friends and clients. In all fairness I have never had bad product nor poor service. This year I ordered on Dec 6 for Christmas delivery. By Dec. 20, some gifts had been delivered and two had not. I called and the woman who answered finally found out that P&D were out of product. I was never informed that my gifts would be late! Why not? I tried for two days to get through to customer "service." If you dial 3 to get a call back and keep your place in queue, you will never receive that call-back. It's just their method of making you go away. I tried three times waiting for the next available operator and was hung up on around the 20 minute mark. Also, all Emails went un-answered. I finally was able to reach a person on the 23rd and revised my order for delivery mid-January. Your products have continued to maintain the excellent quality I've come to expect but your "service" department shows me that you care little about your customer base.

Ordered one thing and received another

Ordered one thing and received another. Contacted customer service and all they would do is argue with me. They Said the Item is no longer available and they cant replace it because they don't know when it will be available again. I asked for a refund and she said she could put in a request but there is no guarantee that it will go through. If customer service has no guarantee of service whats the point of even having customer service if they don't have authority to provide customer service. This was a nearly $500 order, and they just lost a customer and referrals from this customer for life because they couldn't even guarantee a partial refund of a $29 item. If they retained this customer they could have gotten at least $500 worth of orders a year for the rest of my life (60 years? =$30,000) plus referrals. Their loss. guess a close competitor that charges more will be getting my business(Harry and David).

Poor quality

I ordered a fruit basket as gift (order number P-7522710). I’m unsure of the quality at the time of packing, but fedex delivery took 2 days to go from Harlingen, Texas to Victoria, Texas. During this time, it was just out in weather temperature. A couple oranges appeared to be rotten. There are black spots on them. I don’t know the status of the cheese and bacon. My recipient was kind and didn’t fuss about it. But this order was a complete embarrassment.

Stop Lying to Customers

My shipping and billing info are the same. Somehow my address was miraculously changed by someone who doesn’t know how to do their job. FedEx supposedly correct the address but that was December 1st. They never delivered the order and of course, Pittman & Davis doesn’t answer the phone. I’ve disputed the charge with my bank and have shared this info with others so they won’t receive any business because this is awful. Do better.

UPDATE: Received my money back from my bank within two days. Still haven’t gotten the “replacement” that was sent. Don’t need it anyway.

Ordered same gift 12/13 and was told…

Ordered same gift 12/13 and was told delivery expected 12/14-12/24 to 2 different addresses. Was delivered to 1 address in PA very quickly. Second address was TX where they are located, tracking status kept stating not available. Called customer service 12/22 and was told not sure what happened but it would be delivered. Called on 12/29 as was not delivered and was told not sure what happened but it could be reordered and delivery would be 1/10-1/16. Asked if could be expedited and was told they only ship once a month. Asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I would get the same response. Requested a refund. If I had not called, nothing would have been done. Not sure when my refund will occur.

Exemplary customer service

I received my order of grapefruit and one of them was rotten, I contacted the company and received an apology AND another delicious box of grapefruit! My family has been ordering from Pittman & Davis for many years, this is the kind of exemplary customer service we have always experienced.

Complaint resolved

Pittman & Davis were true to their word and issued me a sizeable refund for the damaged fruit I complained about. I'd like to thank them for that. Thank You!

This is an update

This is an update from my previous review. Which was 2 1/2 stars Ordered five cinnamon and Walnut cakes going in five different places. Ordering was smooth and simple and free shipping. However It appeared that most would not be delivered in time before Christmas.things seem to change quickly after review and tonite the 5th cake was delivered. So far I have heard from three who have tasted the cake and all replyed very delicious and delightful. I cancel my two and a half Stars thank you
